Founded in 2018, Wandering Child Reform Initiative (WCRI) is a non-profit NGO headquartered in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, committed to addressing the critical needs of vulnerable children, at-risk youths, and conflict-affected communities in the Lake Chad region, with a primary focus on Nigeria's Northeast, particularly the BAY (Borno, Adamawa & Yobe) states. Established with a vision of fostering sustainable development and resilience, WCRI operates through a multi-sectoral approach to tackle pressing issues affecting the region's most marginalized populations.
WCRI seeks to address a myriad of interconnected issues, including child protection, gender-based violence, inadequate access to healthcare and education, economic insecurity, environmental degradation, and social exclusion. By tackling these challenges holistically and through a multi-sectoral approach, WCRI aims to create lasting change and improve the lives of the most marginalized populations in the Lake Chad region.

WCRI is dedicated to addressing a wide range of issues impacting the well-being and prospects of children, youths, and communities in the Lake Chad region. Our thematic areas of focus include: Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) and Maternal Health Education, Livelihood and Recovery, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Climate Governance, Peacebuilding, Advocacy and Policy Formulation, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEAL), Good Governance.
