Founded in 2018, Wandering Child Reform Initiative (WCRI) is a non-profit NGO headquartered in Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, committed to addressing the critical needs of vulnerable children, at-risk youths, and conflict-affected communities in the Lake Chad region, with a primary focus on Nigeria's Northeast, particularly the BAY (Borno, Adamawa & Yobe) states. Established with a vision of fostering sustainable development and resilience, WCRI operates through a multi-sectoral approach to tackle pressing issues affecting the region's most marginalized populations.
WCRI seeks to address a myriad of interconnected issues, including child protection, gender-based violence, inadequate access to healthcare and education, economic insecurity, environmental degradation, and social exclusion. By tackling these challenges holistically and through a multi-sectoral approach, WCRI aims to create lasting change and improve the lives of the most marginalized populations in the Lake Chad region.
